RUBBISH!

It is clear from recent events that use of the club's waste collection service needs some clarification. The swing-top container located by the old boat shed is for the disposal of general domestic waste from the club house. Domestic waste consists of waste paper, cardboard, food scraps, vacuum cleaner dust and such like. It does not include old batteries, antifouling paint tins, hurricane lamps, engine oil, wiring looms, carpeting, oil filters, broken rigging or any from of hazardous waste. Furthermore, if the bin is already full please take your litter away with you and place it in your own bin!

Thank you.

FAMILY ROOM

Work has now been completed on the latest stage of the clubhouse ground floor development.

The "Family Room" has been fitted out with disabled facilities, shower, toilet and baby changing area.

This room has been finished to a high standard and is yet another big improvement for our club

EASTER EGG FOR RNLI

This year's Easter Egg Hunt was attended by 24 juniors and their families. The raffle raised £110 for the R.N.L.I. A big thank you to all who supported this event.

BORING CONTRACTOR

The boring contractor (that's boring in the directional drilling sense) has now completed the drilling from the Club to Broadmarsh. The next stage is to drill under the club moorings and across to Hayling Island. If all goes well the contractor is expected to complete his bit by the end of June. This is later than the original target date for completion.

The working area should then be considerably reduced, while SSE engineers pull their cables through and make the joints. It is currently anticipated that they will have finished by end of July. [Watch this space! Ed.]

BORING VIDEO!

You may be interested in the work taking place within the club compound over the coming weeks. The following link takes you to the contractor's website which details the drilling method and provides a short animated video of the machinery in action.

A big thank you to Dave Cox and his band of willing volunteers who have given up so much of their time to complete this project on time and within budget! WELL DONE!
